In Korea, an idol's birth date is never just trivia. Saju – the Korean four pillars system – turns any birth date into a chart of eight characters, and Koreans have been reading their favorite artists' charts for as long as there have been favorite artists. Put your own date in, and the same machinery can answer a better question: whose chart is closest to yours?
Every saju chart has a single character that represents the person – the day master, the stem of the day you were born. There are exactly ten, each an element in yin or yang form, and idols cover the whole range:
| Idol | Day master | Reads as |
|---|---|---|
| V (BTS) | 乙 Eul – yin wood | The wildflower: bends, adapts, never breaks. Born in deep winter with zero fire in sight – the stage presence comes from somewhere else entirely. |
| Jungkook (BTS) | 丙 Byeong – yang fire | The sun itself: warms every room without being asked, can't do small. |
| Jimin (BTS) | 丁 Jeong – yin fire | The candle: precise, deliberate light. He shares this day master with Taylor Swift. |
| Jennie (BLACKPINK) | 壬 Im – yang water | The ocean: moves entire rooms while looking perfectly still. |
| Lisa (BLACKPINK) | 戊 Mu – yang earth | The mountain: unmoved center that everything else arranges itself around. |
Day masters computed from public birth dates. Birth hours aren't public, so idol charts are read from the six characters of year, month and day – the same six we use to match yours.
When you cast your free chart on Palja, the result now includes your chart twins: the three celebrities whose charts sit mathematically closest to yours, each with a match percentage. The matching is deterministic – no interpretation involved. It compares your element balance (how much wood, fire, earth, metal and water your characters carry) against each celebrity's, then weights the day master heavily: sharing the exact same character counts most, sharing its element counts next. Same day branch or same birth-month season add smaller bonuses.
A high match doesn't mean your life will rhyme with theirs – saju doesn't work like that, and neither do we. It means the raw material is similar: the same engine, the same fuel mix. What each of you built with it is the interesting part.
The twin pool currently holds around forty-five public figures: all seven BTS members, all four of BLACKPINK, members of aespa, Stray Kids, IVE and more, alongside Western artists (Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Rihanna…) and stars from across Asia – from Catriona Gray and Liza Soberano to Deepika Padukone and Michelle Yeoh. Everyone is matched from public birth dates only.
